Home prices across the nation are bouncing back impressively in some of the markets hardest hit by the recession,according to the latest report from On Numbers. An analysis of figures from theFederal Housing Finance Agency shows prices up sharply from a year ago but still falling short of the highs experienced in 2007 and 2008 in many of the nation's 102 major metropolitan areas.
The index pegs home prices in the Charlotte area down 0.9 percent from December 2011, leaving the Queen City at No. 71 on a ranking of the past year's growth rate.
